A real bio will be posted one of these days...by that i mean "eventually."
For now enjoy this timeline!
1999 - Formation of The Chupakabra, a band which would contain almost every member of damidol at
one time or another.
2001 - The Chupakabra officially breaks up.
2001 - Formation of Flatus
2002 - Flatus breaks up
2002 - The Chupakabra reforms, with Dr. Ducks (vocals), Local Boy (guitar), Daixo (drums), and
Greg (bass)
2002 - Dr. Ducks, fearing that The Chupakabra will be completely unproductive like last time and
will probably break up, changes the name to damidol and declares it his solo project. A few
weeks later, everybody else leaves the band, Greg citing the reason that Dr. Ducks (the only
member over 18) will not buy him porn. Dr. Ducks defends his actions by saying "Maybe if he'd
given me some money..."
2002 - Local Boy decides to stick with the band until the EP is done. Dr. Ducks enlists his
brother Taalkari for drums, and the trio completes and releases the "Lunch Lady" EP. They sell
four copies. The other 46 end up being given away.
2003 - Dr. Ducks and Taalkari enter the basement of former drummer Daixo to record a new demo to
be titled "Foofty." They record three songs, "Dragon's Lair," "Push It," and a cover of Kittie's
"Brackish" in one day. Daixo, in addition to recording, engineering, and mastering, plays bass
on "Push It" and guitar on "Dragon's Lair." The demo is renamed "The Life and Times of Mr. Sock"
but is never completed or released. The three completed tracks are released as half of the EP
"www.damidol.tk," a free promotional EP given out to large crowds of people at GenCon 2003.
Then, Dr. Ducks returns to Wisconsin to find that Tokelau, the web service who was hosting
www.damidol.tk, has canceled their account, making all the Indiana promotion completely useless.
2003 - Releases of "Lunch Lady" Bonus Track variants on .mp3.com and CafePress.com. Combined,
they sell three copies, all to Dr. Ducks.
2003 - The idea of the "Foofty" or "Mr. Sock" demo is scrapped, and Taalkari quits the band.
2004 - Dr. Ducks begins work on a new demo, entitled "No Way Out." Taalkari plays drums for
"Dragon's Lair" and quits the band again. Dr. Ducks' friend Jason Loeffler, of Cats Not Dogs
fame, joins Dr. Ducks in his studio (a.k.a., living room) to finish the demo. They record five
songs together, but the title track, "No Way Out," doesn't turn out very well. Dr. Ducks looks
over the completed tracks, and decides to make "The Meaning of Life" the title track. To fill
the gap left in the demo by "No Way Out," he rerecords the vocals for one of the joke songs, "In
The Face," a song about eating Froot Loops and stabbing people in the face, and it becomes
"Denial." The demo is given out to everyone and anything that moves for free.
2004 - Jason plays two shows with Dr. Ducks, at The Mode and Kaity's house, both in Waterloo,
WI. Soon after, Skippy-Bo Playdo and Zippo join the band and play more shows, including Games Galore in Marshall and a certain convenience store which shall remain nameless.
2005 - damidol lands on the Main Stage for Local Bands Rawk Fest XIV. Zippo quips that "We've hit the big time!"
2005 - Projected release of the first damidol full-length album, "Scum and Villainy," as well as possibly another EP/demo.
